MOUNA LAROUSSI – FATIMA, VROUW MET 1001 GEZICHTEN (FATIMA, WOMAN WITH 1001 FACES)
Sunday, 14 May | 14:30
Mouna Laroussi’s new theatre show, in which you will meet Fatima, is according to theaterkrant “the Moroccan Brigitte Kaandorp”. She is golden and knows how to wrap difficult subjects in funny stories about her cheeky niece Bouchra and vulnerable old Haj. With a diverse cast of characters, Mouna paints a picture of a population that left hearth and home to build a new life in a faraway land.
Lending Fatima her voice, she does not mince words in the process. Because this friendly Moroccan aunt says what she thinks about things in a very honest way, but also has an ear for other opinions. She pairs humour with guts, and even if you don’t agree with her, you can’t help but love her.
“Very refreshing and compelling case for equality.” – ★★★★ Theaterkrant
