2DANCE Workshop by Thomas Higginson Nov 7th.

Workshop by Poetic Disasters member Thomas Higginson.
Class description: “I’d like to say that I teach a release based class but nobody knows what that means anymore. From a guided improvisation to warm up and tune in, we will move into crossings and phrases that will explore how ‘release’ can allow us to navigate through alternative pathways both on the horizontal and vertical plane. I’ll take you off your axis, make you fall and help you to find volume in your movement. Come and dance with me!”

Thomas Thomas Higginson (UK, 1997) is a dance artist currently living and working in Groningen. Although gymnastics was a big part of his childhood, Thomas never really had much formal interaction with dance until much later in his life. From 2015 until 2016, he studied at the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) before going on to complete the three year training cycle at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. During his education, he worked with choreographers such as Boris Charmatz, Daniel Linehan, Ivana Müller and recently took part in Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s production of Somnia (2019). He is now dancing for the Poetic Disaster’s Club, the associate company of Club Guy and Roni.
